Storefront Music Lends Sound Experience to BBDO New York Wells Fargo's Latest Active Cash Credit Card Campaign

May. 14, 2024

Storefront Music Founders & Composers John (Scrapper) Sneider and Adam Elk build a bespoke score for a series of humorous adventures starring comedy legends and real-life friends, Steve Martin and Martin Short, as they haggle - or perhaps not so much - to “Be A 2%er.” The Wells Fargo campaign created by Agency BBDO New York.

Directed by Biscuit Filmworks' Aaron Stroller, the new campaign centers around the idea of being a “2%er,” an inclusive club of pragmatic cardholders who appreciate the unlimited 2% cash back they earn on purchases. Steve and Martin humorously showcase the unmatched value and simplicity of the Active Cash Credit Card benefit as they travel from book and candle shops to plant nurseries and restaurants  - with Marty, the Active Cash cardholder, always pleased to pay knowing he’ll earn unlimited 2% cash back on purchases, while Steve is equally happy not to pay at all.

John (Scrapper) Sneider said:

"Great creative is obvious the first time you watch it, and this Wells Fargo campaign had us instantly on board. Steve and Martin have unbelievable comedic chemistry and honestly the dynamic between Adam, the prog rocker and myself, the jazz trumpeter, mirrors their wry wit all too well. We needed music that framed the picture by supporting their interaction and adding to the charming character of all the spots."

He continued:

"We have a great rapport with the Executive Music Producer, Melissa Chester from Listen Jane, and the creatives at BBDO New York. We agreed on a direction and really, the pieces almost wrote themselves. Being a touring and recording jazz musician, this project felt just like making a record - I wrote music that would allow the musicians to interact with each other with the same joy and fun that Steve and Marty bring to every scene. We encouraged them to “play pretty and swing your butts off!” so you can't help but smile and snap your fingers listening to this music!"
